Out of the civilizations we have studied I would have enjoyed living in the Roman civilization. I wouldn't want to live in the Aztec, Mayans, or Incas because I don't want the risk of being sacrificed or live in the jungles. I chose Rome over Greece because Rome had Christianity and was more organized.
ReplyDeleteI would rather be greek because they were great warriors.I would have enjoyed the training. i would have been a soldier. i would have been a soldier because of the great discipline it took.also i would hav been rewarded for the hard work and training i put into becoming a soldier
ReplyDeleteI would have liked to live in the Roman civilization, if I was living in that time period. I like many characteristics of this society, and thats why I'd choose to live here. One thing that I like about that society is the fact that they are all united as one. Also they value freedom, citizenship, and the consistency of laws. I would have liked to be a trader, because it would be a fun job since they are on a peninsula surrounded by the Mediterranean sea.
ReplyDeleteI would have wanted to live in Rome. They were the largest and strongest empire and believed in Christianity. The other civilizations were not as large and didn't last as long. The control that the Romans had was larger than any of the other civilizations. Their geography was better than the Greeks because there was more flat land which made it easier to get around.
ReplyDeleteOut of all of the civilizations we studied in Unit 3 I would have wanted to be a Greek. The Greeks had very smart philosophers. I specifically would have wanted to be a Spartan. Their powerful army would have been a great luxury to have. I would not have wanted to live in a place with human sacrifice like the Mayans and the Aztecs. I prefer Greece over Rome and Inca because they were a democracy unlike the other 2.
ReplyDeleteI would have wanted to live in the Roman civilization. They were the most advanced and had the biggest territory. Also their public works are amazing and nothing had been built like that in earlier years. I think the Romans gave the most opportunity to their citizens, and the government was strong. During their time it was the most dominate civilization and achieved many accomplishments. Finally they were the closest thing to modern society
ReplyDeleteI think I would like to live in the Roman civilization. I think it would been the most civilized one of its time. They had it the best geographically, and I think they had a very good government. The were right by the Mediterranean Sea so it was super easy for them to trade and travel everywhere.
ReplyDeleteIf I lived in the ancient days, I would have chosen to be Mayan. The mayans were the furthest south in meso- america, so the climate would be a lot more pleasant than Minnesota's winters! It is located on the Yucatan Peninsula on the Medditeranean, good for trade. I like how they were organized through seperate city states rather than being united under one large government. I would find their polytheistic religion fascinating, because they worship many gods including nature gods. Women were allowed to govern, which separates this civilization from many others back in the ancient times.
ReplyDeleteI would have wanted to live in the Roman civilization because you wouldn't have to be made to believe in anything you didn't want to. Whoever was the ruler at the time made the decisions their way and there was not any law that had a set of rules on how a person should act. The Romans also had much more freedom than the other societies.
ReplyDeleteI would have preferred to live in the Roman civilization. They were more civilized, Christian, didn't perform sacrifices, and weren't as violent as the Spartans of Greece. Rome was also a united empire, which is a much better environment to live in, because it's the closest to having peace, at least within the citizens. I would have liked to be an emperor, because then i could change up the society a bit and make it the way I would like it to be.
ReplyDeleteI would want to be a Maya. They were mysterious in there disapearance and it would be cool to be the one that they find. I would want to be a queen, I know they didn't have queens but maybe they did a long, long time ago. Queens that we don't know about, and maybe i would be the first queen that they would find. :)
ReplyDeleteOut of all the civilizations, I would have chosen to be part of the Greek civilization. One of the main reasons was that they were a democracy so there wasn't a fight for power over who would be the next emperor. They also had a well placed geography system - being a peninsula helped them become experts at trade and sailing. This trade allowed them to become a richer population, even though the majority of people were farmers.
ReplyDeleteIf I were given the choice i would decide to live in the Roman empire because of their organized government and strong military empire. They also gave more rights to women and they had a strong sense of patriotism and loyalty to Rome. They were acceptant to other religions and eventually accepted Christianity as their official religion. The Romans had several astounding architectual features in their cities and they valued education.
ReplyDeleteI think that I would have wanted to be a roman. The reason is that they have many things that they got from other countries that made the empire great. Also the way that they ruled was a lot like the way the US rules. I would want to be a soldier because I have always wanted to be a soldier and they are high in society.
ReplyDeleteI would have liked to live in the Roman Civilization because they seemed the most set up at the time. They also had a very well set up government for the time and most land. They also had many accomplishments for ancient times like their public works.
ReplyDeleteI would want to live in the Rome civiization, Because they had the biggest territory, and there was alot of cultural diffusion. i think its cool how they tried to make everyone feel at home by changng their ways of life everytime they conquered new land and a new culture. :)
ReplyDeleteI would very much like to be a Roman citizen. Rome in my mind is the epitome of a well run civilization. Although their culture was almost entirely borrowed from the Greeks, Roman life was optimal compared to most other nations. Their advanced technologies played a role in both large scale and small domestic affairs. Advances in architecture and plumbing systems at times made Roman life almost as convenient as ours is today. Also, for a long time, Rome did not completely indulge in these creature comforts they had access to, but instead focused themselves on being an advanced and disciplined people. The combination of those two factors makes Roman citizenship the most appealing to me out of all the options.
ReplyDeleteI would have rather lived in Rome. I would have enjoyed seeing the giant empire expand and also to see it fall and see if I could survive the fall of Rome. Also the Roman public works are amazing. The aqueduct stretched for 260 miles. I would have enjoyed to see that during its prime. I would just have enjoyed seeing Rome during the prime part.
ReplyDeleteI would live in Rome cuz their the richest of the ones we have studied. They also have the better gov. In Rome i would be the ruler cuz then i could rule n be cool like that.
ReplyDeleteAztecs because they had a unique farming system and a floating land. What I would enjoy about living in Aztecs is because there were public work but it wasn't like all about building a huge stone object. I would want to be farmer.
ReplyDeleteI would have like to have lived in the Greek civilization. I would have chose to live in Athens because it had a good government and wasn't as harsh as Sparta. My position would be a politician because they get most privileges, and people would listen to me. Compared to other city-states in Greece, I think that Athens would be a great place to live in.
ReplyDeleteI would had wanted to live in the Roman society because they had a very sophisticated civilization. The Roman civilization is famous for many of their amazing accomplishments. They built beauticul structures that can still be viewed today, they expanded their empire to a huge area, and they had a strong and stable government. I would not want to have lived in the Aztec or Mayan civilizations because I would not want to be a sacrifice to the gods.
ReplyDeleteI would have like to be Mayan. I like that they created a calendar that was around .002% off from todays calendars! I don't like that they did human sacrificing though but as long as i was safe i could deal with it.
ReplyDeleteI would probably want to be in the Greek empire. I just think that they were a lot more relaxed compared to the other governments that would just kill kill kill. Greek was still serious dont get me wrong, but they werent as bad as the other civilizations at the time. I would probobly want to be some type of art person because they were right about the middle of the classes, and i would love to be a part of the great arts from back then.
ReplyDeleteIn all of the civilizations we have studied, I would have rather lived in Greece. I feel as if Greece had more to offer to women then Rome or the Americas. For instance, Greek's city state Sparta allowed women the chance to have a proper education rather then just to stay and take care of their home. In addition, I would not like to live in the Americas because they had human sacrifice and they had more difficult conditions to live and plant in. Also, Greece made many advances in art and architecture.
ReplyDeleteI would have like to live in the Greek civilization because it was well-run, women had rights, and education was valued. The Greek civilization had a variety of different governments that were strong, and it was also wealthy because of trade from the sea. Although Greek women had to obey their husband and fathers, they had the right to inherit property and played an important and public role in religious ceremonies. Also, the Greeks stressed the value of education. Boys were put through rigorous schooling so that they could be beneficial to the democracy when they grew up, and great thinkers like Socrates and Plato were encouraged and history was recorded. Because of how the Greek society was run, the rights that women had, and the focus on education, I would have wanted to be a part of the Greek civilization.
